The scientific and engineering research in NLR's Advanced Manufacturing Program is driving a more robust supply chain of resources on the grid and accelerating process innovations for energy-intensive industries, such as steel and concrete, to help the United States remain globally competitive. Researchers are also focused on developing new, innovative technologies for domestic manufacturing and energy generation.
NLR works collaboratively with academia, national laboratories, and industry partners, including utilities, state and local government, to bridge innovation gaps and drive advanced manufacturing technologies and processes to market. NLR also has facilities dedicated to the R&D needs of manufacturers and other facilities that have the flexibility to adapt to those needs.
