Multimedia Quality Assurance Checklist
Use this quality assurance (QA) checklist to ensure your audio files, animations, and videos meet NLR standards.
Section 508-related accessibility requirements are labeled below. For more information, see the NLR standards for multimedia applications.
Animations
- All links within the animation work properly.
- The screen does not flicker with a frequency of greater than 2 Hz and lower than 55 Hz. [508]
- Users can pause, stop, or hide animations that auto-play for more than 5 seconds. [508]
- Interactive elements are accessible via keyboard and screen readers. [508]
- The animation has descriptive alt text or a full text version. [508]
Audio
- All audio files include a text version. [508]
- The embedded audio player is fully keyboard navigable. [508]
- A link to download the audio file is included (if applicable).
Videos
- The video includes synchronized closed captions. [508]
- The video includes audio descriptions for critical visual information not conveyed in the audio track. [508]
- The video has a text version. [508]
- Any interactive video elements (e.g., buttons, overlays) are accessible via keyboard and screen reader. [508]
